Pepe Muppet Stuffed Animal

We spent a lifetime preparing. This preparation starts when we are small: in the cradle and learn to scream to feed us. Then comes everything else. You have to learn a complete language from scratch, without us having the faintest idea difference between nouns and verbs, let alone their models of conjugation and declension. We must learn to walk, when the legs just give to support us. Learn to recognize this strange gut feeling and "alert" so that some kind soul will take us to the bathroom. We must learn to move in a world designed for people several times bigger than us, so we learn to stack boxes on chairs to reach the box of cookies that mom keeps on top of the cupboard.

endure all this because we are told, we are "preparing." A statutory age dispatched us to school, to cram the head of numbers and operations, dates and names, dates and events, events and names. Learn to relate the name of Hidalgo, with the event of Independence and the date 1810. Memorize tables of addition and multiplication, the rivers of America, the capitals of Europe, the planets of our solar system. Memorize the National Anthem and learn to march neatly in our row on the day of salute to the flag.

We left the school with the misleading impression that we are done to learn, but then we come out with that "we must learn from the experiences." I do not want to discuss here the dubious value of drawing lessons from experiences, since they are unique and unrepeatable, are lessons that we never will serve. No, the thing is to learn. "Mature", say others, "grow" in the expression of the most prone to psychological terminology disclosed by Dr. Phil and imitators.

Then you also have to learn to live together with family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, strangers passing in the street beside us. Learn not to hit when we irritate, not insult them when they put the radio on full blast, not to let go in face insults when we stepped off the truck. Acquire the capacity to participate in a meeting to talk about trivial or depths, to exchange racket on the court and pretend that our lives are in follow the path a ball.

Life is ongoing and will never see the happy end to the "preparedness." Any troubled out there will have stopped to think what is being prepared so much? I do not know. No one has been brave size has revealed mystery. But the outlook is not so bleak. I have the confidence to travel when you can feel fully prepared for life. That is the time of my death.
